At Mewalal Fruits, we deal in fresh, natural, perishable fruits, vegetables, and related food products. Due to the perishable nature of these products, all purchases made from Mewalal Fruits are subject to this Return, Refund and Cancellation Policy.

This Policy is designed to ensure fair treatment of genuine customer complaints while also protecting Mewalal Fruits from misuse, false claims, delay-based complaints, and losses caused after delivery due to improper customer handling or storage.

By placing an order with Mewalal Fruits, you acknowledge and agree to this Policy.

1. Nature of Products Sold by Mewalal Fruits

All fruits and vegetables sold by Mewalal Fruits are natural agricultural products. As a result:

  • size, shape, color, ripeness, texture, sweetness, and appearance may vary naturally;
  • products may differ from photographs shown on the website;
  • seasonal variation, natural marks, skin spots, firmness differences, and ripening changes are normal in fresh produce;
  • slight weight variation may occur due to sorting, packing, moisture loss, and handling.

Accordingly, natural variation in produce is not a defect and does not entitle the customer to return, replacement, refund, or compensation.

2. Strict No-Return Rule for Perishable Goods

As a general rule, fresh fruits, vegetables, cut produce, pre-packed perishables, and similar food items sold by Mewalal Fruits are non-returnable once delivered.

For hygiene, safety, spoilage, and quality-control reasons, Mewalal Fruits does not accept physical returns of perishable goods after delivery except in rare cases where we specifically request return or inspection.

3. Refund / Replacement Is Not Automatic

A refund, replacement, or adjustment is not a customer right merely because a complaint is raised. All claims are subject to review, verification, business practicality, and approval by Mewalal Fruits.

Mewalal Fruits reserves the full right to decide whether a complaint will result in:

  • rejection of the complaint,
  • replacement of the item,
  • partial refund,
  • full refund,
  • store credit, or
  • any other commercially reasonable resolution.

The decision of Mewalal Fruits after reviewing the complaint and evidence shall be final, subject to applicable law.

4. Complaint Window – Strict Time Limit

Because fruits and vegetables are highly perishable, any complaint regarding quality, damage, wrong item, or shortage must be raised within 2 hours of delivery.

No complaint raised after 2 hours from delivery shall ordinarily be entertained, regardless of the nature of the complaint, because:

  • the condition of fresh produce can change rapidly after delivery;
  • storage and handling after delivery are outside our control;
  • delayed complaints are difficult to verify fairly.

Customers are expected to inspect their order immediately at the time of delivery.

5. Limited Cases in Which a Claim May Be Considered

Mewalal Fruits may consider a complaint only in the following limited situations, subject to proof and verification:

5.1 Wrong Item Delivered

The delivered product is materially different from the item actually ordered.

5.2 Missing Item

An item billed in the order was not delivered at all.

5.3 Major Transit Damage

The delivered product is severely crushed, leaking, split open, or physically damaged in a manner clearly attributable to transit or handling before delivery.

5.4 Product Unfit at Time of Delivery

The product is clearly rotten, fungus-affected, or unfit for normal use at the time of delivery, and the issue is reported within the complaint window with proper proof.

5.5 Duplicate Payment / Failed Payment Reconciliation

The customer has made duplicate payment or money was deducted but the order was not confirmed or fulfilled, subject to payment reconciliation.

6. Cases Where No Refund / Replacement / Return Will Be Given

Without limitation, Mewalal Fruits shall not be liable to provide any refund, replacement, or compensation in the following cases:

6.1 Complaint Raised After the Allowed Time

Any complaint raised after the complaint window shall be liable to outright rejection.

6.2 Natural Variation in Fruits and Vegetables

No claim shall be accepted for complaints relating to:

  • size, color, shape, ripeness, firmness, sweetness, juiciness, or taste preference;
  • naturally soft or naturally firm fruit within reasonable commercial standards;
  • seasonal differences in flavor, texture, or appearance;
  • naturally occurring marks, spots, scratches, or minor skin defects that do not materially affect usability;
  • customer dissatisfaction based on personal preference rather than actual defect.

6.3 Product Deterioration After Delivery

No claim will be accepted where the issue may have arisen after delivery due to:

  • delay in opening or checking the package;
  • improper refrigeration or storage;
  • exposure to heat, sunlight, moisture, or poor ventilation;
  • cutting, peeling, washing, cooking, freezing, or processing by the customer;
  • leaving the product unattended after delivery.

6.4 Partially Used, Consumed, or Altered Products

If the product has been consumed, cut, peeled, cooked, processed, distributed, resold, or substantially used before complaint review, the claim may be rejected.

6.5 Refusal to Accept Delivery / Wrong Address / Customer Delay

No refund or replacement will be provided where loss, spoilage, or failed delivery occurred due to:

  • wrong or incomplete address given by the customer;
  • customer being unavailable to receive delivery;
  • refusal to accept the order;
  • failure to answer calls/messages from the delivery team;
  • customer-requested delay or rescheduling.

6.6 Bulk Orders / Event Orders / Wholesale Orders / Custom Sourcing

Bulk orders, event orders, wholesale quantities, subscription packs, gift packs, custom-packed orders, or specially sourced items may be non-cancellable, non-returnable, and non-refundable except in cases of clear supply error attributable solely to Mewalal Fruits.

6.7 Abuse of Refund Policy

If Mewalal Fruits reasonably believes that a complaint is false, manipulated, exaggerated, abusive, repetitive, opportunistic, or unsupported by proper evidence, we may reject the claim and reserve the right to restrict future service.

7. Mandatory Evidence Requirement

No refund or replacement request will be considered unless the customer provides adequate proof within the complaint window.

The customer must provide:

  • order number;
  • registered phone number;
  • clear photographs and/or video of the affected product;
  • photograph of packaging, invoice label, and outer bag/box if relevant;
  • a short description of the issue.

Mewalal Fruits may reject any complaint where:

  • photos are unclear or insufficient;
  • evidence is provided too late;
  • the product is no longer available for review;
  • the claim cannot be reasonably verified.

8. No Obligation to Physically Pick Up Returned Produce

Due to hygiene and perishability concerns, Mewalal Fruits is not obligated to collect back fruits, vegetables, or perishable goods once delivered.

If a complaint is accepted, Mewalal Fruits may choose, at its sole discretion, to:

  • issue store credit,
  • issue a partial refund,
  • issue a full refund,
  • send replacement product,
  • or provide no further remedy if the issue is minor and commercially insignificant.

9. Replacement Preferred Over Refund

Where Mewalal Fruits determines that a complaint is genuine, we may choose to offer replacement instead of refund, especially where:

  • the product is available in stock,
  • the complaint affects only a limited quantity,
  • operationally replacement is more practical than refund.

Customers shall not have the right to insist on refund mode if Mewalal Fruits decides to provide replacement or store credit instead, unless required by law.

10. Partial Refunds Allowed

If only part of the order is affected, Mewalal Fruits may provide a partial refund only for the affected item or affected portion, and not for the entire order.

No customer shall be entitled to full-order refund merely because one item in a multi-item order is disputed.

11. Store Credit / Wallet Credit

Mewalal Fruits may, at its discretion, issue store credit, coupon credit, or wallet adjustment instead of direct cash/UPI/bank refund, especially for low-value claims, goodwill resolutions, or cases where replacement is not feasible.

Store credit, if issued:

  • may be non-transferable;
  • may have a validity period;
  • may be subject to minimum order value or usage terms.

12. Refund Processing Timeline

If Mewalal Fruits approves a monetary refund, the refund may be processed to the original payment method or by any other mode determined by us.

Indicative timelines:

  • UPI / wallet / gateway refunds: 5–7 business days after approval
  • card / net banking refunds: 7–10 business days after approval

These timelines are indicative only. Delays caused by banks, gateways, payment processors, or technical systems are outside the direct control of Mewalal Fruits.

13. Cancellation by Customer

Because fresh produce is sourced, sorted, and packed quickly, cancellation is heavily restricted.

13.1 Cancellation Before Packing Confirmation

Orders may be cancelled only before packing/processing starts, subject to approval by Mewalal Fruits.

13.2 No Cancellation After Packing / Dispatch

Once an order has been packed, processed, dispatched, or marked out for delivery, it cannot be cancelled, and no refund will be payable except where Mewalal Fruits expressly approves otherwise.

13.3 No Cancellation for Special Orders

Bulk orders, custom orders, festive orders, pre-booked produce, wholesale lots, and specially sourced stock may be non-cancellable from the moment of confirmation.

14. Cancellation by Mewalal Fruits

Mewalal Fruits reserves the right to cancel any order, fully or partially, for reasons including but not limited to:

  • product unavailability;
  • stock mismatch;
  • quality rejection at source;
  • delivery location issues;
  • suspected fraud or payment risk;
  • technical pricing error;
  • force majeure, weather, transport disruption, or operational constraints.

In such cases, the customer shall only be entitled to refund of the amount actually received by Mewalal Fruits for the cancelled portion of the order, unless otherwise required by law.

15. Failed Delivery Due to Customer Fault

If delivery fails because of customer fault, including but not limited to:

  • incorrect address,
  • unreachable phone number,
  • repeated non-response,
  • refusal to accept delivery,
  • no person available at delivery location,

then Mewalal Fruits may, at its sole discretion:

  • treat the order as fulfilled/attempted and non-refundable for perishable items;
  • deduct delivery, packing, handling, spoilage, or logistics charges from any refund if otherwise considered;
  • refuse re-delivery unless additional charges are paid.

16. Right to Reject Repeated or Suspicious Claims

Mewalal Fruits reserves the right to flag, investigate, restrict, suspend, or refuse future service to any customer who:

  • repeatedly raises unjustified refund claims;
  • misuses complaint channels;
  • submits misleading or fabricated evidence;
  • behaves abusively with staff, delivery partners, or support team;
  • attempts to exploit perishability to obtain unjustified compensation.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mewalal Fruits shall not be liable for:

  • natural variation in fresh produce;
  • customer dissatisfaction based on taste, ripeness preference, or appearance preference;
  • spoilage caused after delivery due to customer storage or delay;
  • indirect, consequential, special, or incidental losses;
  • business loss, resale loss, event loss, or profit loss arising from any order issue.

In any event, Mewalal Fruits’ total liability relating to a specific order shall not exceed the amount actually paid for the affected item(s) of that order.

18. Policy Prevails Over Informal Assurances

No delivery agent, support executive, sales representative, WhatsApp staff member, or informal verbal communication shall override this Policy unless expressly approved in writing by authorized management of Mewalal Fruits.

20. Changes to This Policy
